Heather Jeffcoat, DPT

Executive Director

Heather (she/her/hers) is the founder and Executive Director of the The Origin Fund. She founded the organization in 2020 to address the gap in access to quality pelvic floor physical therapy services. Formation of The Origin Fund aims to improve accessibility for specialized pelvic health services for low income individuals. Heather has already authored a book on self-treatment for sexual pain, and in forming this organization is further expanding on her mission to improve access to quality care for those that suffer with chronic pelvic pain conditions, childbirth-related injuries and pre- and post-operative needs.

Heather is a recognized expert in the field of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, and is the 2021-2022 President-Elect for the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. She has been a featured on many media outlets, including Sirius XM, Sex With Emily, Loveline with Mike and Dr. Drew, Cosmopolitan, Livestrong, Mom.me, ABC Radio, Health Magazine, US News & World Report, Livestrong (VINCE please link what isn’t linked), and many other media outlets.

She has contributed to the ICA Update and the International Childbirth Education Association Journal, where she hosted the long-running quarterly column entitled "Perinatal Wellness". She has presented her techniques twice at the American Urogynecologic Association's Annual Meeting, most recently in 2018 in video format during their general scientific session. She has also developed a course for physical therapists and physicians to further her mission of improving women's sexual health, which made it's debut in Istanbul, Turkey in Spring of 2019 and has been taught several times since then. She is passionate about teaching and providing patient care, and tirelessly works for improving accessibility of these services for all.
